Mary Clifford College Scholarship

Mary Clifford taught 4th and 5th grade in Portland Public Schools for over twenty years. She also served as a substitute teacher in HRCSD for several years. This memorial scholarship honors her commitment and dedication to improving the lives of students through education. This scholarship is intended to support students who demonstrate significant financial need.

Two scholarships of $2500 each offered to vocational or college students who have completed a minimum of one year of college or vocational program.

CRITERIA

  • Currently enrolled in a 2-year community college or vocational program, or 4-year college/university
  • In your Personal Statement please discuss the challenges you have faced in pursuing your education beyond high school, and what you hope to achieve by completing a college degree or vocational certification.

WEIGHTED SCORING

Students will be scored according to the % shown:

  • Financial need (50%)
  • Personal Statement (20%)
  • Letter of recommendation (30%)
