Our Scholars & Donors
Both Rod and Mary Anne were recipients of college scholarships which allowed them lengthy careers in seminary education. "Establishing a scholarship fund is one way we can provide that same boost to current students".
Thank you so much for this scholarship! I look forward to becoming an elementary educator at Western Oregon University. I hope to return to Hood River and give back to my community.
The Impact Teaching Grant gave me the resources to bring hands-on science experiments to my classroom. My students are more engaged than ever!
Program Highlights
Experimental Quilting
"students are given an opportunity to try something hard, and something that builds finality, there is beauty to the end product, it is functional and usable once it is done. It might have taken many many hours to complete with both heart, hands and mind but you are left with a piece of history that can be passed down, traveled with and memories made along the way"
Playground Communication Boards
Environmental Communication Boards were installed at seven Hood River County School District playgrounds to help create accessible and inclusive communication opportunities for all students within our community. These communication boards are intended to assist students of all ability levels with expressing their thoughts and feelings, creating and maintaining meaningful relationships, and making connections with their peers while participating in essential life experiences learned through outdoor play.
Athletic Fee Waivers
Students at Wy'East and Hood River Middle School have the opportunity to participate in a robust offering of fall, winter, and spring sports. Fees – up to $150 per year – can prevent students from participating. HRCEF offers need-based fee waivers to families so that all students can play sports with their peers.
