Our Scholars & Donors
Both Rod and Mary Anne were recipients of college scholarships which allowed them lengthy careers in seminary education. "Establishing a scholarship fund is one way we can provide that same boost to current students".
I share a passion for athletics and community that Steve shared with the Hood River Valley. I look forward to using your help to further my academics and carry on Steve’s commitment to the Gorge.
Thank you for believing in me and my potential. I am committed to making the most of this great opportunity you have given me.
Program Highlights
Creating With Green Screen
"Our students have been SO excited to enjoy the green screen tools from this grant. It is rewarding to watch them work together to create pictures or videos so full of imagination. For them, using green screen is a time of total artistic freedom and they are so over the moon when they finish a project. They experience working together as well as learning how to maneuver in the app as well as with lighting and the green screen itself. … Perhaps this will create a spark in them now. But for all of the students, they will definitely remember this activity with fondness well after their elementary years."
Overview of Speciation and Evolution of Hominids Using Skull Models
"We were able to expand our human evolution teaching by having physical models of hominid skulls that students could touch, measure and compare. So much better than only seeing them online or in a textbook! Thank you HRCEF!"
Swim Lessons For Water Safety
Growing up in Hood River County means living and playing next to lakes, streams, and the Columbia River. Being safe and confident in the water is an important skill for children to learn, which is why HRCEF and Hood River Parks & Rec have partnered to fund swim lessons for all Kindergarten, second and fourth grade students in our district.
