Applications for HRVHS Local Scholarship Program Are Open!

Applications are now open for the 2026 HRVHS Local Scholarship Program (LSP). The LSP is coordinated by HRVHS and the Hood River County Education Foundation, and is open to all HRVHS and HROA seniors.

The HRVHS Local Scholarship Program is a partnership between over 30 local scholarship organizations and grantors, and awards nearly $500,000 to seniors annually. In 2025 we awarded nearly 200 scholarships to 90 seniors.

This year, the community has added 10 new scholarship funds, meaning there are a record number of scholarships available for seniors.

Local scholarships are open to seniors who are enrolling in two-year, trade / vocational, and four-year degrees. There are scholarship opportunities for every senior, so make sure to apply!

Applications are open from 12:00 AM Thursday, January 3 – 11:59 pm Thursday, February 20, 2026

How Do I Apply?

  1. Visit eschol.hrcef.org to find scholarships
  2. Gather your required documents:
    • Unofficial Transcript
    • Student Activities Chart (Oregon CIS or Oregon Goes to College)
    • Letter of Recommendation
    • FAFSA Student Summary or ORSAA (first and last page) — optional, required for some local scholarships only
  3. Submit your common application on Kaleidoscope (“HRVHS Local Common Forms 2026”)

Completing the HRVHS Local Scholarship Application will provide a customized list of local scholarships you are eligible for. It is not the same as applying for the local scholarships. When you are ready to apply for individual scholarships:

  1. Click on any of the scholarship tiles in the private marketplace to view more information about any of the local scholarships and then click “begin” to apply for the local scholarship.
  2. Copy / paste your essays, upload documents, and request confidential evaluations as prompted.
  3. Review your application and press “submit” when you’re ready. That’s it!

When you log back in to your Kaleidoscope account to work on your scholarship applications, click the dropdown menu and select “HRCSD Scholarship & Grant Programs, powered by HRCEF” to access your customized scholarship list.

Kaleidoscope is an online application portal for thousands of scholarship opportunities, not just local scholarship opportunities. Be sure to select “Explore” to view other scholarship opportunities that are available to you.
