Jennifer Batten is a groundbreaking electric guitarist whose innovative style first gained attention in the guitar underground before earning widespread recognition in major music publications. She rose to global fame after being selected from over 100 guitarists to join Michael Jackson’s band, touring the world for a decade on the Bad, Dangerous, and HIStory tours and performing in the record-breaking Super Bowl XXVI halftime show. Batten later collaborated with legendary guitarist Jeff Beck for three years, contributing to his albums Who Else and You Had It Coming and touring internationally.
A prolific solo artist, she has released multiple albums spanning rock, world beat, and electronica, authored instructional books and DVDs, and performed in diverse settings, including Cirque du Soleil’s Zumanity in Las Vegas. Honored with the She Rocks “Icon” Award and inducted into Guitar Player Magazine’s “Gallery of the Greats,” she continues to evolve her career with new projects, including her Portland-based Jennifer Batten & Full Steam band, showcasing a dynamic range of dance-driven music.
