Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital Healing Careers College Scholarship

HEALING CAREERS SCHOLARSHIPS

Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital will award three, two thousand dollar ($2,000.00) scholarships to three graduates of Hood River Valley High School who are planning careers as health care and human services professionals. Eligible applicants must have graduated from Hood River Valley High School and are either currently enrolled in a two-year, four-year or trade program, or planning to enroll next fall. 

Our intention is to support students pursuing a broad range of healing and helping roles that require specialized training, license and/or certification, and not only in degree programs, including:

  • Case Worker/Case Manager
  • Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Child Welfare Specialist
  • Community Health Worker 
  • Community Health Worker
  • Counselor
  • Dental Hygienist 
  • Dentist
  • Dietitian. Nutritionist
  • Emergency Medical Technician
  • Family Services Advocate
  • Firefighter
  • Massage Therapist
  • Medical Assistant
  • Medical Interpreter

If granted one of three scholarships, the $2,000 will be sent directly to your college or university registrar.

Preference will be given to students who are preparing to enter the health care professions, with an intention to serve in the Columbia Gorge.

CRITERIA

  • Hood River Valley High School graduate
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Financial need
  • Interested in serving into healthcare or human services fields
  • Spanish speaking preferred (i.e., would would be able to serve in their chosen professional role in Spanish)

SCORING

  • Financial Need (40%)
  • Essay (30%)
  • Confidential Evaluation (15%)
  • Questionnaire Answers (15%)
