Enhancing education for students in the Hood River County School District
Through our 57 scholarship funds, the Education Foundation has awarded more than $2,500,000 in scholarships to more than 1000 students. The Foundation has also raised and distributed more than $500,000 through its Impact Teaching Programs.

Thank you so much for this scholarship! I look forward to becoming an elementary educator at Western Oregon University. I hope to return to Hood River and give back to my community.
Both Rod and Mary Anne were recipients of college scholarships which allowed them lengthy careers in seminary education. "Establishing a scholarship fund is one way we can provide that same boost to current students".
The Impact Teaching Grant gave me the resources to bring hands-on science experiments to my classroom. My students are more engaged than ever!

Yearbook Cameras For A Beautiful Yearbook
"With the new equipment in their hands, our yearbook students can now capture the kind of lifelong memories that truly reflect the heart of our school community. Their excitement was instant—so much so that they gave each camera its own personality, proudly introducing Spiderman and Superman, Jim and Dwight from The Office, Yoda, and even the balanced duo Yin and Yang. In a year when school funding continues to shrink, the resources provided by the Hood River Education Foundation felt nothing short of miraculous, giving our program the tools it needed to not just survive but grow with professional-quality equipment. We are deeply grateful—THANK YOU!"

Literature Circle Books: African American Focus
The students were SO engaged with these books. I would guess that about 25% of them read 2-4 books when they were only assigned one to read. It's really challenging getting teens to read right now. … However, these books grabbed almost all of them. Some kids finished their books in the first week and immediately asked for another title to read. It is easy to get them hooked when the books are so relevant and engaging. THANK YOU!"
