Principal Approval Form
(NEW for 2026 Cycle)
Beginning with the 2026 grant cycle, principal approval is required prior to submitting an HRCEF Impact Teaching Grant application.
In previous years, principals reviewed applications after submission. This year, applicants and principals will complete the approval form together as part of the application process.
This change ensures that all proposed projects align with district goals and available resources. It also helps teachers identify alternative funding sources early and reduces the need for post-submission revisions, saving valuable staff time.
How to Complete the Principal Approval Form
- Download or make a copy of the Principal Approval Form
- Meet with your principal to complete and approve the form.
- Upload the completed form at the start of your Kaleidoscope application.
Returning applicants may recognize familiar questions from past cycles. To streamline the process, any duplicate questions will be removed from this year’s Kaleidoscope application.

Grant Awards
- Maximum Award: $2,000 per named applicant.
- Group Applications: Multiple applicants may apply jointly for a single project. In these cases, the total request may exceed $2,000 but must not exceed $2,000 per individual listed on the application.
Ineligible Expenses
The following types of requests do not qualify for Impact Teaching Grant funding:
- Curriculum purchases (except approved supplemental materials)
- Projects covered by HRCSD or school budgets
- Fee-based programs (e.g., preschools, after-school care)
- Facilities improvements or upgrades (buildings or grounds)
- Salaries or wages
- Field trips
- Travel, food, or lodging for professional development
- Food
- Prizes or parties for students
