"Being part of our community means interacting with our community in all capacities, the state of Oregon has emphasized teaching and learning about Native American Culture. We implemented this in our Art classes. We invited 3 local native beading artists to share their lives with us, their stories, and their history. our students connected with this native craft and were encouraged to make it their own, to realize that this art form can be as much theirs as it would be another's, but to hone their own artist voice in the process to listen to who you are inside, and the world around. and to tell their story through the art."

"Students are loving this microscope! … During academic free time or times without a structured lesson, students are frequently on the microscope exploring things. Many times, students will come in from recess with a flower or bug saying: "I can't wait to look at this under the scope." This microscope has made a big difference in my classroom."

Students get excited about them, it gives students something to do with their free time (that secretly adds to their learning), and it is so exciting to see students not afraid to try something new and be able to figure it out. I loved seeing different groups of students connect, but most of all, I love that the library can add to the many reasons why it is a great place to hang out and where students love to be."
