Congratulations on your Hood River County Education Foundation scholarship! All HRCEF scholarships are sent directly to your school. In order to receive your scholarship, you will need to complete the following steps:
Proof of Enrollment Form
The Proof of Enrollment Form is available on Kaleidoscope and opens mid-August every year. In order to complete this form, you will need:
- Your college student ID
- College email address
- Your course schedule for the term, featuring:
- your school name
- the current term
- your name or portal username
A screenshot of your student portal, or an unofficial copy of your transcript featuring your current courses is sufficient.
Thank You Note(s)
Scholarship recipients must submit one thank you note for each scholarship received. These notes are forwarded to the grantors who make your scholarship possible.

Tips for Thank You Notes:
- DO: Address the note to [scholarship name] grantor(s)
- DO: Include YOUR name on the note
- DO: Include any information you want to share about your school, program, or what you’re looking forward to / enjoying about your program
- DO NOT: Use AI to write your thank you note. Don’t worry about writing the perfect note — grantors want to hear from you.

Can I defer my scholarship?
Yes! Scholarships may be deferred for up to one year. If you need to defer your scholarship, please email us so that we can work with you on making arrangements.
Did you receive my thank you note or Proof of Enrollment Form?
You will receive an email from HRCEF when we have all thank you notes and your Proof of Enrollment Form. This email will let you know that your scholarships are approved for disbursement. If you haven’t received an email from us and want to confirm we have received your materials, please contact us.
I am studying abroad, how do I receive my scholarship?
We will send your scholarship to your home university in the US unless directed otherwise. Students will need to provide a class schedule for their university abroad, but enter your home university details in the Proof of Enrollment Form.
I am obtaining my degree abroad at international school, how do I receive my scholarship?
The scholarship disbursement processes will depend on your school. Please contact the equivalent of the Financial Aid or Student Accounts department at your school and ask how third party scholarships from the United States should be submitted and then contact HRCEF to coordinate your disbursement.
