Apply for an HRCEF College Scholarship!

The Hood River County Education Foundation is accepting applications for College Scholarships. These scholarships are open to HRVHS & HROA graduates who are pursuing trade, two-year, and four-year degrees.

Who is Eligible for HRCEF College Scholarships?

HRCEF college scholarships are open to students who have graduated from Hood River Valley High School, and will be in their sophomore, junior or senior years of college starting in the Fall of 2026.

Students currently enrolled in a Master’s, Doctorate, or post Doctoral program are not eligible. Scholarships funds are intended for undergraduate programs. Graduate and postgraduate programs are not eligible for funding.

The Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital Healing Careers Scholarship is also open to HRVHS graduates who have not yet started college, but plan to enroll in the fall of 2026.

What Do I Need to Apply?

HRCEF College Scholarships operate by common application, meaning there is one application for all scholarships. To apply, for college scholarships, students will need to provide:

  • One letter of recommendation from an instructor, preferably within your field of study
    • If you are an applicant not currently enrolled who is applying for the Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital Healing Careers Scholarship, a letter from an employee, volunteer coordinator, or HRVHS faculty in healthcare or human services fields are acceptable.
    • Recommendations from HRVHS teachers or staff are not recommended unless you are not currently enrolled.
  • College Transcript, unofficial or official (pdf)
  • Financial Statement (questions on application)
  • Personal Statement:
    • “Write a description of your selected major, your future goals and any relevant personal or financial challenges that you face in pursuing your education. If you did not file a FAFSA, please explain.” (500 words)
  • FAFSA Student Summary – or – the first and last page of your ORSAA
